My Vinyl Sounds Bad
The record is damaged the turntable is cheap and nasty the.
My vinyl sounds bad. There is no bass at all and it sounds very harsh. You can really hear it in between songs and normally non fill occurs at the beginning of the album since that is towards the outside. Sorry its when vinyl doesnt fill up the grooves and thus gives you something like a hissy sound to it or a small crackling sound a lot of time it can be in just one channel. My turntable sounds awful and im not sure why.
Mofi are over all hit or miss but thier cut of dsotm is superb. Yes the act of playing records does add a tiny amount of noise clicks and pops with each play but my frequently played records over very high resolution speakers still sound fine to me. My current chain is as follows. You may be very surprised to hear how good your records sound once cleaned.
I have the same thing on my copy. Got a tech question for sound vision. An old or worn stylus will cause your records to sound bad or sound scratchy. Learn how to properly clean handle and play your records.
Vinyl can sound bad for all sorts of reasons chief among which. A proper cleaning will remove dirt and static electricity from the vinyl. Really deep rich sound full range of tones. Weird and distorted isn t a recognised description of anything that anyone can usefully use to diagnose your issue.
Bypassing the built in speakers i eagerly connected the turntable s rca outputs to an auxiliary input on my denon avr x4200w receiver and played bohemian rhapsody from queen s greatest hits. Any record i play that is old 1970 s era sounds great. When compared with a cd its evident that my amps and speakers sound great. Rega p2 bellari vp130 manley snapper mono blocks paradigm ref11.
Try to find the mobile fidelity copy. I have plenty of japan turntables that sound great my main one right now is a technics sl 1600 with an at 15xe which was one of the better carts from the 70s 80s. I don t have the fuzzies on breath on the one or two other cuts of the track i have but those lp s run noisier and have some warp and flutter that i don t have on my 180 gm pressing of dostm from about 2004. What you thought was noise caused by scratches may disappear.
However i have a copy of pearl jam s vitalogy from when it was re issued on 180 gram vinyl that i bought sealed this summer and it sounds like mud. I find some cds sound very good in comparison to the same thing on vinyl but often at medium to higher volumes the cds still sound harder and glaring. It sounds like it should.
