Non Rebated Door Frame
The door wing is inserted into the door frame so nothing exceeds except handling.
Non rebated door frame. The rebated door has a distinctive indentation where a part of the wing hides in the door frame and part of the door is on the door frame. This extra thickness allows them to sit flush with the frame which is a satisfying detail. Non rebated doors standard this model represents a common construction of non rebated doors. Non rebated the doors are smooth on the edge without rabbet and fit inside the entire doorframe.
Rebated doors are usually thicker than standard doors which makes them better insulators. Machining a rebate is when half the thickness of the door is channelled out for want of a better description to allow the doors to interlock by 12mm. The non rebated frame exceeds the surrounding wall of 16 mm and is equipped with hidden hinges so there is no hinge to be seen. On the other hand non rebated doors have no indentation and with closed doors they form a uniform surface with the frame without any irregularities.
If the secondary door is opened it needs to close fully into the frame before the primary leaf. You can also choose to add the rebate if you have the correct space within your frame where the doors will be fitted and lastly you can get a pairmaker from our joinery section within.
